  • Investigator and principal enrollment site for study collaboration with Tactile Medical assessing the effect of Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (IPC) on Symptoms and Quality of Life in Women with Lipo-Lymphedema (lipedema with swelling).
  • Investigator studying the effect of the bioflavonoid Diosmin on Lipedema symptoms and quality of life in women with Lipedema.
  • Investigator and principal enrollment site for a study with Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Nutrition on the effect of weight loss on body composition and metabolic function in women with Lipedema.
  • Collaborating with Karen Herbst, PhD, MD on the Treatment Research and Education of Adipose Tissue, TREAT Study at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

 


Guideline Committee -Lipedema:


  • Member of the United States of America Lipedema Standard of Care Consensus Committee sponsored by a grant from the National Institute of Health, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NIHLBI). Meeting was held April 11 – 12, 2019 in Baltimore, MD. I oversee drafting the guidelines for the surgical care of Lipedema.
